Pastry Assistant – Murphy’s | Atlanta, GA

Murphy’s, a beloved Virginia-Highland institution for more than 45 years, is seeking a passionate and dependable Pastry Assistant to join our bakery team. Known for our house-made desserts, baked goods, brunch favorites, and commitment to quality, Murphy’s is one of Atlanta’s most established neighborhood restaurants, bakery, and wine shop.

The Pastry Assistant works closely with the Pastry Chef to prepare, bake, decorate, and finish a variety of desserts, pastries, breads, and specialty items served in our restaurant and bakery. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated culinary professional looking to develop their pastry skills in a fast-paced, high-quality kitchen.

• Assist in the preparation and production of daily pastries, desserts, cakes, pies, cookies, and breads
• Follow recipes and production schedules with consistency and attention to detail
• Prepare ingredients, fillings, doughs, batters, and garnishes
• Help with plating and finishing desserts for restaurant service
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry station and bakery areas
• Ensure proper food handling, labeling, and storage procedures
• Support inventory management and receiving deliveries
• Work collaboratively with the culinary team to maintain Murphy’s quality standards

• Previous bakery, pastry, or kitchen experience preferred
• Culinary or pastry school training is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
