Are you an experienced Bar Manager with a passion for hospitality, leadership, and creating memorable guest experiences? Southern Chicago Restaurant is seeking a highly skilled and self-sufficient Bar Manager to lead our beverage program and bar operations.
Lead Exceptional Service:
Oversee daily bar service, ensure guests are welcomed warmly, and maintain a high-energy, hospitality-driven atmosphere.
Manage & Develop Staff:
Hire, train, coach, and schedule bartenders, barbacks, and bar support staff while fostering accountability and teamwork.
Drive Sales & Upsell:
Utilize your knowledge of spirits, cocktails, wine, and guest engagement to increase beverage sales and elevate the overall experience.
Maintain Standards:
Ensure all bar areas are impeccably clean, organized, stocked, and operating at the high standards of our restaurant.
Inventory & Cost Control:
Manage liquor counts, ordering, pars, waste reduction, and beverage cost controls to maximize profitability.
Coordinate with Kitchen & Management:
Collaborate with chefs and leadership to ensure seamless service, timing, and successful execution of specials, events, and busy service periods.
Handle Transactions:
Oversee cash handling, bar tabs, POS accuracy, comps, and nightly closeouts professionally and responsibly.
Resolve Guest Concerns:
Address and resolve guest questions or concerns promptly and professionally to ensure a positive experience.
Stay Updated:
Keep current on beverage trends, seasonal cocktails, spirits knowledge, and opportunities to improve the beverage program.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience in bar management, lead bartender, or high-volume upscale restaurant bar leadership.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of spirits, cocktails, beer, wine, inventory systems, and beverage cost management.
Leadership: Proven ability to lead teams, manage schedules, and maintain high service standards.
Customer Focus: Exceptional interpersonal skills and a genuine passion for hospitality.
Attention to Detail: Keen eye for cleanliness, presentation, execution, and profitability.
Availability: Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
