What would actually make a great groomer consider making a move?

That’s the question we’ve been asking ourselves as we prepare to add a second professional groomer at Four-Legged Fun Zone in Everett.

But before writing another generic job ad based on assumptions, we’d rather ask experienced groomers directly.

If you’ve been in the industry for 2+ years, you’ve likely seen what works… and what absolutely doesn’t.

We’d especially value input from groomers who:

• Have 2+ years of professional full-groom experience
• Currently work in a salon, mobile, veterinary, or independent grooming environment
• Have strong opinions about compensation, schedule boundaries, support systems, or salon culture
• Would be open to a better-fit opportunity if the right role existed

We created a quick 2-minute survey (mostly checkboxes) to better understand what experienced groomers genuinely value in a workplace.

Topics include:

• Compensation structures
• Benefits and perks
• Schedule expectations / work-life boundaries
• Support staff and salon environment
• Safety policies and professional decision-making authority
