Job Description

Working Time - M- F 8:30am - 5pm

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Under the general supervision of the Senior Communications and Marketing Manager, with input from other internal stakeholders, assists with the development and execution of integrated communication strategies to support the Airport and its key results. Writes articles, remarks, announcements, and other editorial content for all communications channels. Proactively collaborates with the Communications and Marketing Department and other external departments to align all copy and content to deliver consistent messaging to all audiences. Responsible for developing and creating communications and marketing strategies and identifying new channels based on data-driven analysis and evaluation of existing communications infrastructure. Assists with crisis communications, special events and media relations, depending on the needs of the department.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Identifies, collects, develops, and writes content for employee intranet, digital signs, posters, emails, and other communications channels.

Develop and implement communication plans, strategies and public relations/public affairs activities and publicity efforts in support revenue and reputational goals; manages other business-wide external communications initiatives as assigned.

Assists with the development and execution of communication plans to support a variety of organizational objectives; communication plans include identification of various audiences, development of key messages and methods of communication.

Develops, implements, and analyzes communications metrics and their associated tools to provide data-driven solutions for internal communications channels.

Collaborates with department colleagues to identify external opportunities to promote internal messaging and news. Leads or supports communications and marketing efforts related to DFW's Total Rewards program, which includes pay, time off, wellness, savings, benefits, and extras.

Serves as project manager for communications of major Airport initiatives.

Maintains graphics library and formats graphics as appropriate for web or print.

Acts as a liaison with other DFW departments to communicate Internal Communication requests and track effective strategies.

Stays apprised of current web trends.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or related field

Three (3) years of experience with a public relations agency or in a corporate communications department with primary responsibilities in employee communications, media relations or reputation management.

Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the above on a year-for-year basis.

Possession of a valid Class C driver's license.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge and proficiency with Share Point and other content management systems.

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines at once.

Knowledge of and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.

Knowledge and understanding of Diversity and Inclusion issues and values, human resources programs and employee benefits programs.

Excellent knowledge of AP writing style and its application.

Extensive writing and editing skills.

Excellent customer service skills and the desire to meet customer needs.

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, at all levels within and outside the organization.

Ability to plan and execute projects from inception to completion.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the Airport leadership, employees, and other key constituent groups.

Ability to collaborate and work with others cooperatively in a team environment.

Ability to incorporate change management principles into communication efforts.

Ability to openly give and receive feedback in a positive manner.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:

Must obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Airport Identification/Access Badge (badge) in accordance with Department of Homeland Security Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requirements in Chapter 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 1500 et al., and DFW Airport's Airport Security Program within thirty (30) days from date of employment and maintain qualification for a SIDA badge upon each badge renewal.

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENT:

Graphic design skills for posters, digital signs, and other communications collateral

Photography, videography, and visual media editing for content related to employee events.

EFFORT:

Works in an office environment.

Uses computers, cameras, smart phones, and other technology to communicate with others.

Exchanges information by telephone, computer, in writing and in person.

Uses near-visual acuity in reading written documents.

Drives to locations on Airport property.
