Description and Requirements

Title: VP, US Group Segment Marketing Leader

Location: New York, NY

Setting: Hybrid

Reports to Title: EVP, Chief Marketing & Communications Officer

The Opportunity

The VP, US Group Segment Marketing is a senior leader responsible for driving segment-specific marketing strategies, sales enablement, and employer/broker engagement across MetLife’s US Group Benefits business. This role leads marketing support for both National Accounts (1000+ employees) and Regional Business (U1000), including Professional Employer Organization (PEO) channels and open enrollment initiatives. The VP ensures that national strategies are adapted for regional execution, delivers an end-to-end (E2E) employer experience, and equips sales and broker teams with impactful tools and content. This executive must be strategic, collaborative, and deeply knowledgeable about B2B marketing in the employee benefits space.

How You’ll Help Us Build a Confident Future (Key Responsibilities)

  • Segment Marketing Strategy: Develop and execute marketing strategies for both large (1000+) and mid-market (U1000) employer segments, ensuring alignment with market trends, customer needs, and sales objectives.
  • Sales Enablement (1000+): Partner with Sales to create tools, messaging, and content that empower the field and deepen consultative engagement with brokers and clients. Deliver high-impact materials tailored to segment nuances, supporting both National Accounts and Regional Business sales teams.
  • Open Enrollment (1000+): Lead integrated campaigns and communications for open enrollment periods, ensuring employers and brokers have the resources needed for successful engagement and employee education.
  • E2E Employer Experience: Oversee the full employer journey, from onboarding through renewal, ensuring a seamless and customer-first experience across all touchpoints.
  • PEO Channel Marketing: Own the strategy and execution for MetLife’s PEO channel, developing targeted marketing programs and supporting sales enablement for PEO partners.
  • Employer/Broker Engagement: Deliver marketing support for broker relationships, national partnerships, and key distribution channels. Elevate MetLife’s presence through insight-led outreach and relationship marketing.
  • Campaign Development & Execution: Drive integrated campaigns that support pipeline generation, client retention, and cross-sell opportunities. Ensure marketing efforts are measurable and aligned with business outcomes.
  • Collaboration Across Channels: Partner closely with Product, GTM, Employee Marketing, and Content teams to ensure unified positioning and execution across touchpoints.
  • Leadership & Team Development: Lead a high-performing team of segment marketers and communicators. Cultivate a culture of innovation, accountability, and market responsiveness.

What You Need to Succeed (Required Qualifications)

  • 8 -10 years of experience in B2B or B2B2C marketing, preferably in insurance, employee benefits, healthcare, or financial services.
  • Proven expertise in segment marketing strategy, sales enablement, and customer lifecycle communications.
  • Deep understanding of employer needs and broker/consultant dynamics for both large (1000+) and mid-market (U1000) segments.
  • Experience with PEO channel marketing and open enrollment communications.
  • Track record of driving go-to-market success through alignment with Sales and Product.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership skills with ability to influence across teams and levels.
  • Experience developing scalable marketing campaigns with measurable ROI.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
